The ITA’s Study for Efficient and Effective Township Government (conducted by the Indiana University Public Policy Institute) is well underway. Please accept our sincere thanks to all who completed the recent survey – we had an excellent return rate! If you missed it, our recent briefing on the purpose and status of the study can be accessed HERE.

Last year, when the ITA Board passed the resolution to engage in the research project, it was pledging to ensure a more effective and efficient form of township government. The overall goal of the study is to gather data to propose, support, and promote legislation favorable to townships. The study will show the “what” and “where” townships are delivering services, and at what cost. We must be able to tell the story of township government with good data in order for townships to thrive and survive!

The assessment that you received is for the total amount of your annual dues; however, if you are not able to do that, please consider an amount that will work for you and your township. Remember, this is NOT mandatory, but rather a voluntary assessment of our membership. These funds will be used to go toward the overall cost of the study being conducted.

If you have questions about the Special Dues Assessment or need further information please contact us by email at
