2026 CIP, Budget & Merger Training

A look back at a full day of training at Delaware Township Community Center.

Despite an ominous weather forecast, Indiana Township Trustees, Board Members, and Township Staff from across the state came together yesterday for an outstanding day of learning, collaboration, and professional development.

The Indiana Township Association extends its sincere thanks to Debbie Driskell and Delaware Township for hosting our Financial Matters Training. Attendees received important updates on Capital Improvement Plans (CIP), budgeting fundamentals and strategies, the latest information from the Department of Local Government Finance (DLGF), and a comprehensive look at SEA 270 Township Mergers.

Effective township leadership requires more than dedication—it requires a commitment to continuous learning. By staying current on legislative changes, sharpening financial knowledge, and collaborating with fellow township leaders, trustees are better equipped to provide efficient, effective, and innovative service to the residents who depend on them.

Training opportunities like this strengthen local government, encourage the sharing of best practices, and help ensure townships remain responsive to the needs of their communities.
