Award Nominations

Nominate a Deserving Member

Each year at the Education Conference, ITA recognizes four dedicated members who have gone above and beyond for their community. Winners are announced at the Awards Dinner on Thursday, October 8 — nominations close August 31, 2026.

Trustee of the Year

The Harold ‘Gene’ Stofer award

Board Member of the Year

The Charles Bogden Memorial award

Township of the Year

Recognizing an outstanding township

Employee of the Year

Recognizing an outstanding township employee

Nominations will be accepted until August 31, 2026; anything received after that date will not be considered for the 2026 awards presentation. Awards are presented during the Awards Dinner, and we generally do not disclose winners ahead of time.

ITA is proud of the many contributions its men and women have made to their communities and for the betterment of township government as a whole. We encourage you to help us recognize those members who deserve to be thanked by nominating them for an appropriate award.

The committee will consider accomplishments within their township/community at-large, as well as letters of support, news articles, and similar materials. The award is bestowed not only based on successfully fulfilling the duties of the office (those things we “must do”), but on the merit of going above and beyond — from what is expected to that which is exceptional. Weight is also given for township officers who have shown leadership abilities and who work to develop leaders within their own community.

Relevant information to consider attaching: community involvement (boards, affiliations, formal occupation), letters of support, news clippings, and other supporting documents that may enhance your nominee. Please be sure to describe in detail why you believe this person or township deserves this prestigious award.

Nominations will be held for consideration for two years.

How to Nominate

Download the nomination form, print it, and mail it with all attachments to the ITA office.

The form opens in a new tab. If the print box does not appear on its own, right-click anywhere on the form and choose Print — or press Ctrl + P on Windows or Cmd + P on a Mac.

Good to Know

Frequently Asked Questions

When and where is the 2026 Education Conference?

October 7–9, 2026 at Embassy Suites by Hilton in Noblesville, Indiana. Early-bird registrants may check in Tuesday evening, October 6 (6:30–8:00 PM); everyone else checks in October 7, 8, or 9.

How much does it cost, and what’s included?

One all-inclusive price covers conference activities, provided meals, classes, and entertainment: ITA members $325 (without Topgolf) or $375 (with Topgolf); non-members $650. Early-bird pricing ends September 7 — member rates rise to $425/$475 after — and online registration closes September 25, 2026.

How do I book a hotel room?

Reserve within the ITA room block at Embassy Suites for the $164/night group rate, available until September 28, 2026. Book online here, scan the QR code in the Hotel & Travel section, or call (317) 614-1900. If the block is full, the overflow hotel is the Residence Inn by Marriott Indianapolis Noblesville ($154/night, book by September 15, 2026).

What about the Wednesday night Top Golf event?

The Topgolf night (Wednesday, October 7, 6:00–10:00 PM) includes dinner from the taco bar buffet, and buses are provided. Because of the buffet you must prepay by September 25 — it cannot be added on-site. Registration “with Topgolf” includes it; a guest of a member attendee may add it for $50.

How do I nominate someone for an ITA award?

ITA recognizes four members each year — Harold ‘Gene’ Stofer Trustee of the Year, Charles Bogden Memorial Township Board Member of the Year, Township of the Year, and Township Employee of the Year. Nominations are accepted until August 31, 2026 and awards are presented at the Awards Dinner. Download the nomination form, print it, and mail it with your supporting materials to the ITA office — see the Award Nominations section above for the address.

How do I become a sponsor or exhibitor?

Sponsor and vendor registration will open soon — details and levels will be posted here. The deadline is September 1, 2026, and all ads and logos must be received by that date.

What is your refund policy?

Cancellation refunds cannot be made after September 28, 2026.
