Critical Dates to Know

Aug 31 — Awards nominations deadline

Sep 30 — CIP adoption deadline (if required)

Oct 13 — Last day to submit Form 3 (budget advertisement)

Oct 23 — Last day for budget public hearing

Nov 2 — Budget submission deadline (signed Form 4 + docs in Gateway 2.0)

Nov 18 — Public Safety Day (registration open)

Oct 7–9 — Annual Conference (free headshots and award nominations)

Action Items for Members

Check your CIP threshold — email Abby, Tyler, or Miranda (below) for a free eligibility check.

Budget for HEA 1048 volunteer firefighter payments ($500 per member minimum, effective July 1, 2026) — consult your township attorney for eligibility questions.

Budget for 2027 training ($100 per person, per class; minimum 3 classes plus conference).

Budget for updated ITA dues (new structure — see the presentation).

Contact your attorney about fire contract amendments related to HEA 1048.

If you received a public records request from Justin Wienig / Starbridge, refer to the HEA 1360 guide (below).

Still Pending / Watch For

• DLGF township scorecards (due by December 31).

• Online training guidance from the State Board of Accounts.

• ITA guide on HEA 1048 volunteer payments (being finalized).

• Online / evening board member training (coming in December).

• Newly elected trustee training (December — 5 hours required before taking office).
