Join us for this month's Township Talk as we welcome Gennifer Schaefer from USDA Rural Development to discuss the Home Repair Program—an additional resource that can help your residents complete essential home repairs and reduce reliance on township emergency assistance.
This program offers practical support for homeowners in eligible rural areas who need help with critical safety and livability repairs. As a township official, understanding this resource can help you better serve residents in need.
Program Highlights
• Up to $40,000 in loans (1% interest, up to 20 years)
• Limited grants available for homeowners age 62+
• Covers safety and livability repairs (roofing, electrical, accessibility, etc.)
• Must be in an eligible rural area

• Township office staff handling assistance requests
• Anyone interested in resources for residents in need
